Courmayeur Sport Center

A top tourist resort like Courmayeur must allow everyone to practice almost any type of sport regardless of the season. With this spirit, about twenty years ago it was decided to build the most important sports facility in the upper Aosta Valley: the Courmayeur Sport Center.

The Courmayeur Sport Center is located on a large area beyond the Dora, near the road that leads from Courmayeur to the hamlet of Dolonne. It includes various facilities, some of which are indoors and some outdoors. It also has a large parking area. The Ice Palace is the largest and most famous structure in the center. It has a regular rink, suitable for any ice sport: skating, hockey, curling. With its large bleachers for the public it can host important sporting events of international level. The center has 6 tennis courts: 3 ones indoor in PVC and 3 outdoor in red clay. In addition, there are 2 squash courts. A regular indoor field for 5-a-side football, spaces for table tennis and rooms for indoor golf are available. It is therefore logical why sporting activity never stops in Courmayeur.

One of the main attractions of the Courmayeur Sport Center is also the climbing wall. The beautiful structure consists of a large wall for indoor sport climbing. Climbing courses and refresher courses on safety techniques are organized within it. Another area in which the Courmayeur Sport Center has specialized are wellness and fitness. Inside, in fact, there is a large fitness center, with gym, weight room and training room. Another facility is the Wellness Center with sauna, Turkish bath, solarium, whirlpool, body treatments, etc. Finally, a service that can be useful for adults with children is the games room with children’s entertainer.

From Hotel Aigle you can reach the Courmayeur Sport Center in 3 minutes by car, or take the bus, which stops almost in front of it at regular times. Therefore, with little road you can do many things: ice skating, playing hockey or curling, playing tennis, squash and table tennis, volleyball, basketball and five-a-side football, swimming, gymnastics and even practicing golf. As already mentioned, you can also take advantage of the beautiful indoor climbing wall, just not to stop even in winter or during the few rainy days in summer.
